About The Flower School
The Flower School is a professional registered training school based in Brisbane since 2004.
We offer both Certificate II, III & IV in Floristry as well as an exciting range of Courses, Workshops & Masterclasses for the floral enthusiast, including an Introduction to Floristry course, Event Styling and Advanced Bridal course. We also schedule several fun seasonal and specialised workshops and masterclasses throughout the year.
We deliver high quality personalised training with tutor-led demonstrations followed by hands-on student participation. You will master traditional and contemporary techniques under the guidance of our qualified trainers. Our courses are composed of small-group training in a modern, floral industry atmosphere. We ensure your understanding with all aspects of the trade, whether for business or pleasure.
The Flower School has graduated nearly 200 accredited florists since 2015.

Amanda Meads credits much of her success and high standards to the perfectionist training she received under a Dutch flower master in New Zealand. During her 40 – year career Amanda has designed and created elaborate floral installations, opened and operated retail shops and floristry schools, in London and New Zealand. She has participated in styling high profile events in London, the UK, Europe, and New York.
She established The Flower School in Brisbane in 2004.
Yvette Hubbert brings an Arts & Design background with 25 years of floristry experience to her work at The Flower School. She has worked with the elite of the industry in London, New Zealand and Australia and is passionate about teaching and mentoring floristry students to excel within this industry. She brings a wealth of knowledge on retail and merchandising.
Naomi Cross is our talented and friendly RTO compliance officer and Enrolment manager. She is always happy to help with her bright bubbly personality and answer any queries you may have. She loves the atmosphere communicating well with the students. Her high level of customer service and practical skills keep The Flower School humming!
Sue has recently joined our team and brings along a wealth of experience in Admin, Training and RTO Compliance. She has a warm friendly personality and is happy to assist with any queries.
She enjoys observing students, how they learn and develop their skills through hands on activities’.
Alexandra Daczynsky is the latest addition to the Flower School team. With over 10 years of floristry experience, this multi-disciplinary digital creative person has a vast knowledge of many different areas within the industry, from high-end wedding work to large-volume production and everything in between. With an impeccable eye for detail, she brings her passion and love for the industry to help empower and encourage the next generation of florists.

Amanda starts her career in Florsitry under the strict supervision of a Dutch floral master in New Zealand
Amanda explores the overseas floral world on a working holiday to the USA, UK, Europe and Asia, finishing her trip by moving to Perth managing a Flower Shop for a year and half.
Amanda settles in London and works with leading florists at major social events in London and the Continent
Amanda contributes to floral designs for Elton John, Princess Di and Sarah Ferguson. It was reasonable to spent 50,000£ on flowers for a great party in the cashed-up 1980s
Amanda works for florist-to-the-stars, Kenneth Turner, to create window display for Harrods in London
Queen Elizabeth and HRH Duke of Edinburgh 40 Ruby Wedding Anniversary:
Amanda joins the team of florists creating the rich red-themed floral displays for the Royal couple’s Ruby anniversary at Claridges Hotel, London.
Countdown with one hour to finalize the floral extravaganza before the red carpet was rolled out. Panic ensued when the team discovered their van had been wheel clamped around the corner and the Royal guests were on their way!
BERGDORF GOODMAN New York Kenneth Turner puts Amanda on his team that flies to New York to design the world-famous Christmas Window Display for Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Avenue.
It is a tradition that the Christmas Windows appear like magic so the team worked overnight in -12 º weather.
Amanda assists Kenneth Turner in establishing his brand in Bergdorf Goodman Department Store, New York.
Amanda founds The Flower School of Kensington, and begins her teaching career
Amanda is part of the team decorating the floral displays for Princess Diana’s 30th birthday party
Amanda returns to New Zealand where she establishes a Central Auckland Flower Shop and The Flower School
Amanda relocates The Flower School to Brisbane, Australia
The Flower School becomes a RTO -Registered Training Organisation offering Accredited Certificate courses in floristry
2014 - 2017
The Flower School becomes part of Brisbane’s EKKA show, demonstrating floral designs, running competitions, judging and exhibiting
The Flower Crown workshop at the Ekka drew in crowds of all ages: over 500 crowns a day were constructed!
The Flower School designs a Melbourne Cup archway for Moet & Chandon in Jupiter’s Casino, Gold Coast.
Brisbane City Council’s Botanica: The Flower School holds public flower crown demonstrations and workshops
